What is Brace Height?


Generally, brace height is the measurement from the deepest part of the grip (pivot point) to the bowstring at rest.


This is commonly in line with the burger hole in the riser or the pressure button holes.

Brace height is important for both recurve and compound bows that are slightly different principles apply.




Brace height matters a lot.


Why?


Some bows have shorter brace height and those are considered to be speed bows and they have a brace height of around 6" inches.

So, bows with shorter brace height are faster but they are harder to shoot.

Measurements


Measurement of brace height depends upon the type of bows that are used in archery. Shorter the brace height is, faster the speed or vice versa.


Depending on different type of bows, brace height also differs according to the height of the bow. Generally, brace height for recurve bow and compound bow varies with the length of the bow.

For Bear Kodiak Magnum And Bear Kodiak Hunter


Bear kodiak magnum is generally a traditional bow. For a 52 inch bear kodiak magnum, brace height is considered to be 7-8 inches.


Brace height for bear kodiak hunter for a 60" inches bow is about 7"-7.5" inches or if you are using old version of kodiak hunter then it is about 8" inches.
